Sounds like a technical issue.
A few thoughts:
- Remove any modifications you made to the plugin. If you need to, install a fresh copy.
- Deactivate the plugin, and reactivate it. Clear your browser cookies and cache. If you are using a cache plugin, clear the plugin's cache. Then try the contact form again and see if the issue persists.
- Have you had a chance to work through the Troubleshooting Guide and FAQs yet?
If so, please turn on "Blocked Comment Logging Mode" with the option "Log All Comments" and try to comment on your site on any of your blog posts. Whatever the technical issue is, the same issue that is causing that message on the form, will cause the comment to be blocked, and the data will be logged. Save that log to a .txt file. Then if you can go to the WP-SpamShield Support Page and submit a support request. I'll email you back within a few minutes, and then will have you email me the log file as an attachment. (Don't post it here.)
It's much quicker to diagnose an issue like this when I'm in direct contact with you by email, so the official support page linked above is the way to go.
It should be fairly easy for me to diagnose once I get the logs.
