Hi Beth. I don't think that's true. I installed the theme and didn't see any code for contacting or emailing. Did you create the site or did a developer do it for you?
If you look in the "Plugins" section, you might see something like : Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms, Contact Form Builder, Visual Forms Builder, Fast Secure Contact Forms... any of those could power the Contact Form on your site. If you can find the one you have, we will be able to tell you how to make sure it's setup properly.
